Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the use of the mobile application QR Scanner Offline – No Ads (the "Application" or "App"), created for Android devices.

The Application is designed as a 100% offline, privacy-first utility. We strongly believe in absolute digital privacy. We do not collect, transmit, store on external servers, or sell any personal information or device data.

1. Information Collection and Use

Zero Data Collection & Zero Telemetry

• No Personal Data Collected: The Application does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, location data, or unique device identifiers.
• No Analytics / Tracking SDKs: We do not integrate Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Mixpanel, Meta SDK, or any third-party tracking or behavioral profiling tools.
• No User Accounts: You do not need to register, log in, or provide any credentials to use the App.
• No Advertisements: The App contains zero ads, zero ad networks (such as AdMob or Unity Ads), and zero ad-tracking cookies.

100% On-Device Processing

• All QR code and barcode recognition is powered by on-device machine learning models (Google ML Kit).
• Camera frames and image streams are processed locally in your device's volatile memory (RAM) in real time and are instantly discarded.
• No images, camera feeds, or scanned strings are ever transmitted over the internet or uploaded to cloud servers.

2. Device Permissions and Purpose

The Application only requests the minimum permissions required to perform its functions:

• Camera (android.permission.CAMERA) — Allows the camera viewfinder to scan barcodes and QR codes in real time. Camera frames are processed strictly in local device memory and are never recorded, saved as files, or transmitted over any network.
• Vibration (android.permission.VIBRATE) — Provides tactile haptic feedback when a barcode is successfully scanned.
• Photos / Media / Storage Access (Scoped / Photo Picker) — Used only when you voluntarily tap "Scan Image from Gallery" to select a photo containing a barcode. Only the specific image you pick is read by the local decoding engine.
• Storage Access Framework (SAF – CSV Export) — When you choose to export your scan history as a CSV file, Android's system file picker saves the file to your designated local folder (e.g. Downloads or Documents).

3. Local Data Storage & User Control

• Local Scan History: If enabled in Settings, the Application stores past scan results locally in a private on-device Room database.
• Full User Control: You have complete control to search, copy, export to CSV, delete individual records, or clear all history at any time.
• Disable History: You can turn off history recording entirely in the Settings screen.
• Data Deletion: Uninstalling the Application permanently removes all locally saved databases, preferences, and scan history.

4. Third-Party Links and Actions

When you scan a barcode containing a URL, email address, phone number, or geolocation:

• The Application displays the decoded content on your screen for your safety and review.
• The Application does not automatically visit or load external websites without your explicit intent.
• If you choose to tap an action (e.g., "Open URL", "Send Email", "Call"), Android handles this via standard system intents to your default browser or apps. Those external services are governed by their respective privacy policies.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K Compliance)

The Application is safe for users of all ages, including children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). The Application does not collect, solicit, or maintain any personal information from any user.
