Privacy Policy for Flashlight SOS

1. Zero Data Collection Architecture

Flashlight SOS operates entirely locally on your Android device. We do not collect, process, or transmit any user data to remote servers or cloud endpoints.

Specifically, the application DOES NOT collect:

• Personal identifiers (name, email address, phone number, mailing address).
• Hardware identifiers (IMEI, MAC address, Android Advertising ID).
• Location data (precise or approximate GPS/network locations).
• Photos, videos, audio recordings, or documents stored on your device.
• Contacts, calendar entries, or browsing histories.
• Analytics, usage metrics, or crash telemetry.

2. Android Permissions and Hardware Access

Flashlight SOS requests only the minimal set of Android system permissions strictly required for its core flashlight and emergency signaling functions:

A. Camera Flash Hardware (android.hardware.camera.flash)

Used solely to control the physical rear camera LED flashlight bulb and adjust brightness levels via Android's official CameraManager API (setTorchMode and turnOnTorchWithStrengthLevel). The application does not declare or use the camera photo/video permission (android.permission.CAMERA) and cannot access lens feeds or capture images.

B. Haptic Feedback (android.permission.VIBRATE)

Used to provide tactile physical vibration when pressing switches, dials, or transmitting Morse code. Operates completely locally via the device's hardware vibrator.

C. Offline Emergency Beacon (android.permission.BLUETOOTH_ADVERTISE)

Used solely for short-range emergency beacon broadcasting during SOS mode. Declared with android:usesPermissionFlags="neverForLocation" (Android 12+ / API 31+) to guarantee that Bluetooth is never used to derive your geographic location.

D. Google Play Licensing (com.android.vending.BILLING)

Used by Google Play to verify authentic app purchases and licenses. Financial transactions are processed exclusively by Google; we never receive or store your credit card or billing details.

3. Local Storage and Preferences

Your settings (auto-off timer, screen light color, vibration feedback, and brightness level) are stored exclusively within your device's local Android Jetpack DataStore sandbox. This configuration never leaves your device and is never uploaded to any remote server.

4. Third-Party Services and Advertising

• No Ads: Flashlight SOS is 100% ad-free and contains no advertising SDKs.
• No Analytics: We do not integrate tracking services such as Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or Facebook SDK.
• No Data Sales: We do not sell, rent, or trade your data under any circumstance.

5. Google Play Data Safety Compliance

In accordance with Google Play Data Safety guidelines:

• Data Collection: No user data is collected.
• Data Sharing: No user data is shared with third parties.
• Data Deletion: All local preferences are completely removed upon uninstalling the application or clearing app storage via device settings.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

Flashlight SOS does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or under the applicable age of digital consent in each jurisdiction). The app is fully compliant with COPPA, GDPR-K, and Google Play Families Policies.
